New Plant-Based Protein Production Line
The Moulins de Kleinbettingen strengthen their positioning with a second extrusion line for plant-based protein production.

An investment strategy focused on sustainable growth
In 2020, the Moulins de Kleinbettingen invested in the construction of a production site dedicated to the extrusion of plant-based proteins. The company quickly pursued its expansion with the commissioning of a second production line, operational since January 2025.
With these two lines dedicated to the extrusion and texturization of dry and wet plant proteins, the Moulins de Kleinbettingen are responding to the growing demand for alternative, sustainable, and customized solutions.
Controlled diversification
Today, the company offers food industry professionals a broader range of ingredients, including:
- Textured Vegetable Proteins (TVP),
- High-Moisture Extrusion (HME),
- Functional ingredients, such as pre-gelatinized wheat flour.

An industrial tool serving co-manufacturing
Thanks to its second line, the Moulins de Kleinbettingen have more than doubled their production capacity and now provide increased flexibility to support co-manufacturing projects.
This new facility enables the development of tailor-made ingredients, combining various protein sources from cereals and legumes, in order to meet both market expectations and evolving regulatory requirements.
The strong demand for plant proteins from diverse botanical sources—and especially for a significant reduction in soy, particularly in collective catering following ANSES* recommendations—further validates the relevance of this strategic direction.

A committed player in the food transition
With this new investment phase, the Moulins de Kleinbettingen reaffirm their commitment to sustainable and innovative food solutions, combining milling tradition, industrial expertise, and innovation to serve a professional clientele attentive to the plant-based food transition across Europe.
